7th Meeting of the Interstate Commission for Inland Navigation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Republic of Croatia

7th Meeting of the Interstate Commission for Inland Navigation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Republic of Croatia was held on March 24-25, 2010 in Banjaluka (B&H).On first day, the meeting of the Mix Expert Group under the Interstate Commission, whereof activities related to mine clearance for the needs of project “Rehabilitation and development of navigation and transport on the Sava River Waterway” on the joint Croatia-B&H sector were discussed, was organized. Status of the project “Rehabilitation and development of navigation and transport on the Sava River Waterway” was presented and discussion on concrete issues of significance for mine clearance was held. Hereby, the agreement on main parameters and deadlines for mine clearance were agreed, as well as the next steps to be undertaken in realization of those activities.

On second day, the Plenary session of the Interstate Commission was held, on which the implementation of the waterway marking, dynamics of enforcement of IPA 2008 (Detailed Design Project), development of Rulebook on maintenance of inland waterways and priorities in realization of works on rehabilitation of the Sava River Waterway from Račinovci to Sisak were reconsidered.

Representatives of the Interstate Commission announced that the construction permit for the comprehensive project relating to navigation from Belgrade to Sisak, on 594 rkm in total, should be obtained by year 2010, with expected completion of the project by 2016.
