Ad-hoc Expert Group for Legal Issues

Overall objective: to support the International Sava River Basin Commission (Sava Commission) activities of legal or administrative nature requiring previously harmonized expertise and active involvement of legal experts of the Parties to the Framework Agreement to the Sava River Basin (FASRB).

Main tasks
  • Develop and, if needed, review the legal internal acts of the Sava Commission and prepare draft changes and amendments aimed at improvement of their contents;  
  • Take  part  in  reviewing  the  existing  draft protocols  to  the  FASRB  and in preparation of   other protocols from the in ternational law point of view;  
  • Recommend measures related to facilitation of preparation and conclusion of the protocols under the FASRB, being subject to further reconsideration and adoption by   the Sava Commission;  
  • Elaborate proposals for other issues of   a legal, administrative and organizational nature  and  develop  comprehensive  legal  grounds  and  standpoints  of  the  Sava Commission requiring previously harmonized expertise from experts of the Parties to the FASRB, if necessary or upon request; 
  • Partic ipate in preparation of meetings of the Parties related to legal issues; 
  • Exercise other tasks and duties particularly entrusted by the Sava Commission.
