Interim Workshop on Climate Change Adaptation Strategy for the Sava River Basin Held in Zagreb

The International Sava River Basin Commission (ISRBC), together with JBA Consulting Engineers and Scientists Limited (JBA) and Zadruga Granum Salis (ZGS), held an interim workshop on the development of the Climate Change Adaptation Strategy (CCAS) for the Sava River Basin on 21 May 2026 in Zagreb.
Organized within the Sava and Drina Rivers Corridors Integrated Development Program (SDIP), supported by the World Bank and the Global Environment Facility, the workshop gathered around 50 participants from the Sava River Basin countries and relevant institutions.
Participants reviewed the preliminary results of the basin-wide climate change impact assessment, discussed climate risks and adaptation needs, and provided expert input for the further development of the Strategy. A pilot web-based platform for visualization of climate-related data and information was also presented, together with an overview of the datasets and methodologies used in the assessment. The workshop marked an important step towards strengthening climate resilience and coordinated adaptation planning across the Sava River Basin.
