The 16th meeting consecutive meeting of captains from the Sava River Basin
The 16th meeting of the Sava River Basin captains took place in Maribor, Republic of Slovenia. After the COVID-19 pandemic and the resumption of professional gatherings, captains, navigation safety inspectors, and other delegates assembled once more to discuss issues relevant to their areas of responsibility and scope of work. This event involved sharing experiences related to captains' responsibilities, safety inspections during navigation, and important updates for all participants, particularly those aimed at improving waterways. Furthermore, the project aimed to enhance the waterway and navigation on the Ljubljanica River was also presented.

The overall conclusion is that this type of professional gathering and networking is highly beneficial, given the personnel shortage in inland navigation and decreased interest due to the multi-year standstill in waterway restoration. It was also concluded that the activities announced and carried out by the ISRBC will assist in restoring water transport in all its aspects.
