Kick-off Meeting Launches Preparation of New Sava River Basin Management Plans
The International Sava River Basin Commission (ISRBC), together with the Consultant team led by Fresh Thoughts Consulting GmbH, held the Kick-off Meeting for the Preparation of Management Plans for the Sava River Basin on 13 May in Zagreb in hybrid form.
Implemented under the Sava and Drina Rivers Corridors Integrated Development Program (SDIP), supported by the World Bank and the Global Environment Facility, the project will deliver the third Sava River Basin Management Plan, the second Flood Risk Management Plan, and the first Sediment Management Plan until the end of 2027.
More than 40 participants from the Sava riparian countries, the ISRBC, and ongoing projects within SDIP discussed the planning approach, key challenges, and stakeholder engagement process. The meeting also highlighted the contribution of four ongoing SDIP projects and the need for stronger harmonisation of water management practices across the basin to support sustainable and coordinated transboundary water management.
