In the river basin management planning cycles, to meet challenging objectives for the Sava River Basin, measures are developing based on basin characterization, assessment of anthropogenic pressure on surface and ground water, inventory of protected areas, elaborated water monitoring networks and the surface and ground water status, taking into consideration integrative principals such as economic analysis of water uses and water services, public participation in the planning process and exploring co-dependencies of river basin management and other sectoral development.
