Hydrologic and hydraulic models

Activities of the International Sava River Basin Commission in the hydrologic and hydraulic modelling have a direct impact on international efforts to the flood forecasting and warning, the flood mapping but also to the climate change analysis with a goal to be extended to the other cooperating objectives.

2010 Development of the HEC-HMS hydrological model of the Sava River Basin for the sole purpose of developing flow hydrographs for a representative unsteady flow hydraulic model.
2012 Development of the single HEC-RAS hydraulic model of the Sava River and its major tributaries for the purpose of developing a comprehensive systems approach to flood risk management in the Sava River Basin.
2014 Enhancement of the HEC-HMS hydrological model of the Sava River Basin for the purpose of assessment the potential impacts of climate change on various water sectors such as navigation, hydropower, flood control, and irrigation.
2017 Development of the HEC-HMS hydrological model of the Sava River Basin, including calibration and verification as a flood event-based model, to support activities leading to the establishement of the flood forecasting system.
2018 Development of the HEC-RAS hydraulic model of the Sava River and its major tributaries, including calibration and verification as a flood event-based model, to support activities leading to the preparation of the flood risk management plan as well as the establishement of the flood forecasting system.
2018 Integration of the HEC-HMS hydrological model of the Sava River Basin and the HEC-RAS hydraulic model of the Sava River and its major tributaries within the Sava Flood Forecasting and Warning System.
2020 Improvements of the HEC-HMS hydrological model of the Sava River Basin including re-calibration and verification as a long-term simulation model
