Task Group for Sustainable Tourism Development

Overall objective: to serve as a mechanism of regional cooperation in the framework of the Sava Commission as a platform for participation of the competent ministries and other relevant organizations in the implementation of jointly agreed activities and projects for the development of sustainable tourism in the Sava River Basin.

Main tasks
  • Exchange of information of projects related to development of sustainable tourism
  • Identifying projects related to development of sustainable tourism of transboundary importance;
  • Coordination of project proposals preparation on the transboundary level;
  • Identifying possible funding sources for implementation of the transboundary projects;
  • Monitoring of the project implementation on the transboundary level.
  • Identification, coordination and implementation of joint activities aiming to promote touristic potentials and regional cooperation in the field of sustainable tourism;
  • Exchange of information on sustainable tourism activities on the country and regional level;
  • Raising awareness on the importance of tourism development in the sustainable way;
  • Proposing relevant actions to enhance sustainable tourism development in the Sava River Basin.

Task Group for the SHELTER project implementation

Overall objective: to the follow-up of the implementation of the EU Horizon 2020 project: "Sustainable Historic Environments hoListic reconstruction through Technological Enhancement and community based Resilience - SHELTER".

Main tasks
  • Follow the overall progress of the project and propose improvements and corrections
  • Provide opinions and recommendations regarding all key elements of the Sava Open Lab developments
  • Provide comments and suggestions regarding the overall project implementation, as needed
  • Review of issues encountered during the project implementation and ensure that required directions for the Sava Commission is obtained at each appropriate stage of the project
  • Provide all available data and other related information, from the responsible organizations by countries, in the Areas with mutual interest for flood protection in the Sava River basin (e.g. UNESCO’s sites, national monuments, cultural/historical monuments, religious facilities, vernacular architecture, cemetery, graveyards, etc.)
  • Provide support to networking of stakeholders for flood management, cultural heritage and disaster risk reduction (civil protection) at basin, country and local level
  • Share experiences among the national stakeholders about the Sava Open Lab activities
  • Participate in the project workshops and training courses
  • Participate in testing of web-based tools developed within the project
  • Inform the Sava Commission and national authorities on its work and progress of the project, as needed.
